Last week, three films hit the screens – Ek – The Power of One, Aa Dekhen Zara and Videsh – Heaven on Earth. All exploded at the box office badly. For quite some time now, no good film has been seen on Bollywood front. Previous releases: Aloo Chaat, Firaq, Staright, Lottery and Barah Aanah appeared the biggest flops as well.

Last week’s releases – Ek – The Power of One and Aa Dekhen Zara opened poorly in international markets. ‘Aa Dekhen Zara’ in UK and Australia appeared a weak enterprise whereas ‘Ek – The Power of One’ emerged the lowest opener in UK. In international circuits, Bollywood films have not been getting good profits. The reason is ofcourse the poorly made films. ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ continues to chew up profits.

Bollywood industry will not see any major release in next few weeks. And this will certainly affect the business of the film trade not only in India but also worldwide. ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ is the one flick that continues making big profits in overseas circuits.

‘Gulaal’ and ‘Jai Veeru’ hit the screens last week. Both emerged as the BIG FLOPS at the Box Office. People were hardly found at the ticketing windows? May we call it a recession? No, it’s not like that. Recession may have hit the movies’ business but it did not affect people to stay away from watching the films.

‘13B’ and ‘Dhoondte Reh Jaoge’ could not create good results in the USA (like the domestic market). Even the Tamil version of 13B appeared weak in American circuits. ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ is still riding high in international markets. Thumps Up…!

Last week, three movies were released – ‘13B’, ‘Karma Aur Holi’ and ‘Dhoondte Reh Jaoge’. All could not make any mark and appeared BIG FLOPS. No excuse at all, as there was nothing extra ordinary to rave about in them except ‘Dhoondte Reh Jaoge’, which had joys quotient for the viewers. But that too joined the bandwagon of flops at the box office.
